Are you looking for Debt Reduction Strategies? Do you have credit card debt that’s driving you insane? Have you overspent during the holidays? You’re not alone, to be sure. These days, credit card debt is a way of life. Especially now, so soon after the holidays! Money is tight for many people this time of year, and we need to pay for all of the holiday presents as well as prepare for tax season. Oh, my goodness! What options do you have if debt has taken control of your life?
Make it your New Year’s Resolution for 2021 to get out of debt! Here are five basic debt-reduction techniques. It’s tough to keep a New Year’s Resolution. However, if you obey these suggestions, you’ll be ready for a prosperous 2021!
Write down your objective and devise a strategy for achieving it! The first and most significant step in getting out of debt is to do the following: Make a vow to get out of debt, write it down, and devise a strategy to achieve it!Hey, you didn’t fall into debt overnight, and you’re not going to get out of it overnight. However, if you want to get out of debt – if you REALLY want to get out of debt – you must have a strategy in place. And you’ll have to stick to it.
Consider signing up for a debt management programme. Good for you if you have the self-discipline to get out of debt without the help of others. If you’re like the vast majority of people, though, a little help can go a long way. Consider the following debt-reduction options:
Credit counselling: If you have high interest rates on your credit cards, partnering with a non-profit organisation will help you lower those rates and consolidate your credit card payments into one lower monthly payment, allowing you to put more money toward paying down your debt!
Debt consolidation loan: If you buy a house, you will be able to use a home equity loan to pay off all of your credit card payments, reduce your interest rates, and potentially subtract the interest on your taxes (but check with your tax professional on this one).
Debt settlement: If nothing else seems to be working and your debt is still daunting, debt settlement might be an option. This is a more drastic solution that is not appropriate for all, but it is a viable choice if you are considering bankruptcy. You will save 40-60% on your credit card payments and get out of debt much faster if you pay them off all at once.
Begin to address your credit issues.
Many people believe that whatever appears on the credit report remains there for seven years. That isn’t always the case. I removed a slew of derogatory credit items from my credit report by simply getting a copy of it and asking the credit bureaus to delete the “bad things.” My credit was almost back to normal after just a few months. Nothing says we have to pay for our errors indefinitely (or even for seven years)!
Reduce your monthly spending
If you overspent in 2020, now is the time to eliminate all unnecessary expenditures and use the money saved to pay off your credit card debt. Examine your bank and savings account statements, as well as your credit card statements and monthly bills. After that, begin searching for items to cut. It’s difficult to live without cable TV, mobile phones, internet access, the daily paper, weekend meals, and movies, I understand. BUT DO So EVEN Though YOU DON’T WANT TO – AT LEAST Before YOU Have YOUR DEBT UNDER CONTROL!
Make some spare cash to enjoy.
Often the only solution is to make more money! Selling some of your valuables, having a part-time job, or starting your own company are all options for making money. Despite what some advertisements say, there is no real trick to making money; all you have to do is find something you enjoy doing and work hard at it!
Consider the bright side!
OK, there were only supposed to be five, but this is the best one: no matter how difficult life gets, no matter how much debt you have, the one thing you can manage the most in life is your thoughts. So, instead of dwelling on what you lack, be grateful for what you do have. Nobody dies wishing they had worked harder or made more money. Some people, on the other hand, lament all the enjoyable and meaningful things they did not do! So take the time to laugh, think positively, and find little ways to enjoy life EVERY SINGLE DAY you’re here on planet Earth!
Are you curious as to what qualifies me as a debt expert? So, I’ve been through it. I understand how it feels to be in a difficult situation. And I understand how it feels to conquer financial difficulties. I am unremarkable in every way. I work at a university, but I don’t make a lot of money. The lottery was not won by me. And no wealthy relatives bequeathed me a large sum of money.
I simply learned a few basic tactics – specifically, the five tips you just read – and stuck with them until my life improved.
