According to a wise man, a man’s shed is his palace. They did not, in fact, but they should have. A good shed is simply wonderful to have in your garden because it helps you to take all of those stray tools and children’s toys and give them a home where they won’t get lost and will be protected from the rain.
Even if you don’t have a large yard, you might be shocked by how much space a shed can save you simply by keeping lawnmowers and chairs out of the way. And, of course, if you have a large garden, you can really go to town!
Apart from the size, the type of wood used, the colour of the wood, the number of windows and the condition of the glass, and the type of door are all factors to consider when selecting a shed. Keep in mind that you’ll be using this shed for decades, so don’t skimp on the price. You may want to bring a picture of your garden with you so you can visualize how the shed would fit into it.

If you’ve decided on a garden shed, there are two options for getting it installed: do it yourself or hire someone to do it for you. Check with the company that sells the shed to see if delivery and installation are included in the bill.
If you have a spare weekend, doing it yourself can be a fun adventure, and seeing something you made yourself standing in your garden is quite rewarding. Modern sheds from DIY stores come with simple instructions and can be surprisingly fast to build, though you might need the assistance of a friend or relative to hold up some of the shed’s components while you finish the rest.

If you’re not a do-it-yourselfer, though, it’s worth thinking about having the company do it for you. It’s not that costly, and they’ll have installed that shed a thousand times before you know it’ll be done right and won’t collapse when you’re inside (an unsettling thought, I’m sure).
